THE VISION

The church was never meant to stand still. From the beginning, it was designed to move outward—spreading from city to city, multiplying disciples and forming new communities of faith. As Charles Spurgeon observed, the church is called to advance until its influence reaches the ends of the earth—not from a single center, but through many.

Multiplication

We value multiplication because in order to reach the growing and diverse population of Fort Worth it will take the exponential expansion of new church planters and churches.

Saturation

We value the saturation of gospel centered churches because in order to impact the city we must intentionally plant the gospel in every neighborhood and with every people group.

We value collaboration because relationships built around gospel unity is what we need to reach the city. Anyone is welcome at the table, as we learn from each other and play nicely with each other.

WHY FORT WORTH?

A city growing faster than the church is keeping pace.

People are moving in from across the country and around the world — bringing new perspectives, little church experience, and real spiritual need. This moment requires more than expanding existing churches. It requires new ones.

THE URGENCY

Hundreds of new churches will be needed in the coming years.

Without intentional multiplication, the gap will continue to grow. Church planting puts people on the front lines of bringing the hope of Jesus into every part of the city.

Our Values

Plant Fort Worth has adopted the Lausanne Covenant, along with its Manila Manifesto, as a unifying statementof faith. The Lausanne Movementis a worldwide movement that mobilizes evangelical leaders to collaborate for world evangelization. We find an agreement on basic doctrine to be helpful, even as we celebrate nuances in each others’ secondary beliefs and ministry philosophies.

The gospel is the joyful news that through the work of Christ on our behalf, God rescues and draws men and women into fellowship with him and with one another, and restores creation that we will enjoy this fellowship forever. Plant Fort Worth churches declare, live by, and cling to this gospel as the centerpiece of our message, mission, and ministry.
We do not exist to simply plant churches; we exist to make many more disciples among the lost people in Fort Worth. Jesus sent the church to make disciples of people of all cultures and tribes. Local churches are the primary venues where believers receive encouragement, inspiration, and vision to proclaim this “good news” to those who are separated from God.
The Holy Spirit illuminates the Word of God and lifts up the Son of God to transform the church of God. We prayerfully strive to rely increasingly upon the Spirit of God to call planters into His harvest, to lead us to the locations where he leads to establish his church, and to provide all the resources we need to carry out his work.
Plant Fort Worth is comprised of several networks, denominations, and churches, committed to plant churches in the Fort Worth area. We joyfully choose to collaborate, humbly share best practices, learning, and resources for planting churches across the area. And we value each others’ relationships and beliefs, as we partner together for gospel saturation.

OUR STORY

It began with a single lunch.

Plant Fort Worth began in August 2017 with a simple idea: what might God do if local churches worked together for gospel saturation and church planting?

Twenty pastors — diverse in background, theology, and experience — gathered to pray, dream, and explore that question. What started as one lunch grew into an ongoing movement, with hundreds of leaders joining over time. After fifteen gatherings and the first collaborative plant in 2019, it became clear God was building something that required greater structure and shared commitment.

So we began to build.

Lead Team

We formed a diverse, unified Lead Team to guide the vision — ensuring Plant Fort Worth would remain a collaborative effort, not owned by any one church or organization.

Partnership Commitment

We established a clear pathway for churches and leaders to move from participation to partnership — committing together to shared mission, contribution, and church multiplication.

The Residency

We launched a shared church planting residency to train and send planters across multiple networks and denominations. Since then, more than 15 churches have been planted.

Discernment Residency

We found a gray area when it came to see planters through the Church Planting Residency. What came from questions and elongated timelines were new avenues to raise up leaders who were still uncertain if planting a church was their next step and the Ministry Discernment Residency was born.

Church Planting Conference

We expanded the vision beyond monthly gatherings — launching a conference to equip leaders, strengthen collaboration, and catalyze future church planting.

Latino Leader Gathering

We launched a space built for Latino pastors and church planters across the city to connect, pray, and grow together.

Plant Fort Worth’s 20th Church Planted

We celebrated our 20th church plant. Twenty communities of faith, planted across Fort Worth by leaders who said yes to the call.
